June 19, 2005 Flight101 Jets Have Great Day At Joe Williams Invitational The High Flying Jets of the Flight101 Track and Field Club competed this past Saturday, June 18th at the Joe Williams Invitational hosted by the Youngstown Strider Track Club at Youngstown State University. Led by gold medal performances by Gabe Sciarretti in the Bantam Boys 800m and Ernest Ike in the Youth Boys 200m Intermediate Hurdles, the Jets and seven silver medalist and three bronze among the 14 athletes who competed. This past weekends competition was a prelude to the upcoming USA Track and Field Lake Erie District Championships to be held at West Holmes High School in Millersburg OH. The Jets along with athletes from Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Harrison, Holmes, Huron, Jefferson, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas, and Wayne counties will be shooting for a chance to compete at the USA Regional Championships in Lexington Kentucky July 7th thru July 10th. The top six athletes in each event advance to the Regional Championships with the top three from the Regionals advancing to the USATF Junior Olympic National Championships in Indianapolis IN, July 26th thru July 31.
